Space Needle Lego

While looking through overpriced souvenirs at the base of Seattle's Space Needle, this caught my attention.

Apparently, Lego has a growing Architecture series, which includes the Empire State Building and Fallingwater.

So what's in that box I bought at the museum?

They are all glossy, beautiful, and double sided.

Locations of atomic nuclear detonations and tests

Today is the 65th anniversary of the bombing in Hiroshima.  This is an animation showing all of the blasts that took place between 1945 and 1998.  It is truly shocking.  If you don't have time to watch the whole thing, skip to 12:10, when the artist summarizes the locations and attributes them to each nuclear power.

This video tells you everything you've ever wanted to know about hedcuts.

Here are some more hedcuts.

Engine coffee table

We are in desperate need of a coffee table at Chez Tamerlane.  Right now, I'm looking for someone who can turn an old tired engine into a pseudo-piece of art.  I think I may have found someone to do it in Montana.  My biggest concern is the lack of engine choices up there in Big Sky Country.  I don't foresee a glut of salvage titled E31 BMW 850i's up there.  But who knows?  If it all works out, I will post some pics and give you guys the name of the company.  Wish us luck.

Yugo art

In the 1990s, School of Visual Arts professor Kevin O'Callaghan bought 39 Yugos for $92 each.  He then gave his students the assignment-- Give them a new life.  This is the result.

KRE House: Luxury home with 9 car garage on 2000 sq ft (186 sq m) lot

The title says it all.  Oh, and the owner wanted to be able to see one of his nine cars in the living room.  That's where the elevator comes in.  It's in Tokyo.  Look at the schematics for the garage.  Aside from the Countach and Bugatti EB110 Diablo 6.0, what else does this guy have?  (Via stipistop.)
